2016 Clara Cummings Walk

Join the Friends of the Farlow for a walk in the 175-acre Trustees of the Reservations Noanet Woodlands with its 17 miles of trails for us to follow, the dam at the site of the former Dover Union Iron mill to explore, 4 ponds with turtles, rock outcrops covered with umbilicate lichens, the Noanet Brook to cross, and Noanet Peak to climb to catch a glimpse of the Boston skyline while we lunch.

Be sure to bring your hand lens for field determinations and pack a picnic lunch! Trail maps will be distributed onsite.

** Please note that collecting permits have not been granted at this time. **

Meet at Caryl Park tennis court parking lot by 9:30am or at the Farlow by 8:00am to carpool.

DIRECTIONS TO CARYL PARK MEETING POINT:

We will meet in the parking lot for the tennis courts.  

Caryl Park is ~6.5 miles off exit 17 from I-95/Rt-128. Take exit 17 for MA-135 toward Needham/Natick. Turn left onto MA-135 W/West St. Turn left onto South St. Turn left onto Chestnut St. Continue onto Dedham St. The entrance to Caryl Park will be on the left, just past 126 Dedham St (on the right).

For Google Map directions, use 126 Dedham Street, Dover, MA. The entrance to Caryl Park will be on the left, just past this home on the right.

Please note: If you pass the 1774 Benjamin Caryl House, the 1774 Fisher Barn, or the Caryl Field on the left, you have gone too far. If parking is tight in the Caryl Park lot, the Chickering Fields lot across the street in available.
