From 1886 through 1936, father and son glassworkers Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka applied their artistic talents and botanical knowledge to create the internationally acclaimed Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models of Plants exclusively for Harvard University. Better known as the Glass Flowers, this unique collection has educated students and the public, delighted museum visitors, and inspired artistic and scholarly works for more than a century. Published in May 2020, Glass Flowers: Marvels of Art and Science at Harvard features new photographs that capture the beauty and magnificent detail of the models.
