Please join the Friends of the Farlow on Wednesday April 14 2021 at 5:00 pm EDT for A Conversation with Jason Dearen, author of "Kill Shot: A shadow industry, a deadly disease”. Published this year, Kill Shot delves into the fungal contaminated drugs that were manufactured at the compounding pharmacy in Framingham, Massachusetts in 2012. Jason Dearen’s research brought him to the Farlow Library during his time as a Knight Fellow in Journalism at MIT.  The fungus part of the story traces to Charles Drechsler’s work on plant pathogens at the UDSA but connects as well to Drechsler’s days at Harvard during which he worked with Roland Thaxter.
