A. Lepiota colubrinus from Harvard Icones

A blog post on BHL highlights how unprecedented research is being made possible with the digitization of archives, manuscripts, and books, such as Harvard Icones.

This volume of original watercolors is held in the archives of the Farlow Reference Library of Cryptogamic Botany here at the HUH and served as a sketchbook of sorts for the “Father of North American mycology”, Lewis David von Schweinitz. The blog, written by BHL staff, contains contributions from Jason M. Karakehian (Pfister Lab) and Judith A. Warnement and Diane Rielinger of the Harvard Botany Libraries.
