2018 Clara Cummings Walk

March 23, 2018

The Friends of the Farlow announces details for this year's Clara Cummings Walk, happening Saturday, April 28, 2018:

Please join us on Saturday, April 28th for the 2018 Clara Cummings Walk at the historic Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Cemeteries have often been revered by biologists as biodiversity refugia; for this reason, Mt. Auburn Cemetery is currently collaborating with Lesley University in a citizen science and education biodiversity program: the Mount Auburn Urban Ecosystem Project

This walk will be an opportunity for the Friends of the Farlow – as citizen scientists – to contribute to the documentation of the biodiversity in fungi, lichenized fungi, and bryophytes occurring on the grounds of Mt Auburn Cemetery. The checklist we develop during the walk with be submitted to the project. Please be sure to bring hand lenses, cameras and water.

When:   Saturday, April 28, 2018, 9am - 1:30pm [Rain or shine]

Where:  Mt. Auburn Cemetery [580 Mount Auburn St, Cambridge, MA]

There is parking at the cemetery, and also a bus stop directly outside the entrance
